This orphanage has a long relationship with One Heart Bulgaria. The director, Dr. Liharska, has been impressed with the quality of help that One Heart Bulgaria has to offer. In the past, this orphanage has relied heavily on donations from adoptive parents. Because foreign adoptions from Bulgaria have almost come to a standstill, the orphanage's budget has been severely curtailed. Although most of the children at Sveta Paraskeva are healthy, several children with special needs are also cared for here because of the skilled nursing staff that is available. The orphanage has requested equipment for disabled children, as well as general infant care items.

One Heart Bulgaria
Sv. Paraskeva is the favorite orphanage of Deborah Gardner, One Heart Bulgaria’s president. It was the second orphanage our organization began helping and Deborah personally sponsored it for the first two yeas. She even attempted to adopt one of the children.

One Heart Bulgaria
For the past several years, One Heart Bulgaria has provided this orphanage with a "One Heart Bulgaria Representative" (Baba Program) named Vanya Manouilova. Vanya visits the orphanage for 4 hours a week. She spends one on one and small group time with the orphans doing a variety of things which include feeding and holding infants as well as singing and playing with the toddlers. This individual attention has dramatically improved the quality of life for these children and the staff at the orphanage has greatly appreciated the extra help. We would like to provide more representatives to help nurture and care for these children. Baba and Vnuche Program.
