Jeff and Sheri Swift – Internship Directors

Jeff, from Provo, Utah,  graduated from Brigham Young University in April of 2008 with a degree in English. He earned several academic honors and scholarships during his undergraduate career and now plans to earn a doctorate degree and become a university professor. Together with his wife, Sheri, Jeff loves helping the Bulgarian orphans.  He has  been a volunteer for One Heart Bulgaria ever since returning from his mission to Bulgaria from 2005-2007, where he worked in various orphanages across the country and fell in love with everything Bulgarian. He recently worked to set up an internship partnership and agreement with Brigham Young University, allowing college student interns to receive academic credit for their work at the orphanages.
In his rare moments of free time, Jeff really enjoys playing sports, especially soccer, racquetball, and tag.

Of his humanitarian experiences with the Bulgarian orphans, Jeff comments: “If you want to change the world, help a child.”

Sheri is from St. George, Utah, and will graduate from Brigham Young University in April of 2009 with a degree in Nursing. She has had a distinguished undergraduate career, but mostly appreciates her time helping patients and making people smile.  Her work with One Heart began shortly after she returned from her mission to Bulgaria, where she developed a true love for the country and a special place in her heart for Bulgarian orphans.  Sheri worked with husband, Jeff, in developing a partnership between Brigham Young University and One Heart Bulgaria, which she hopes will help the internship program continue to grow. Jeff and Sheri plan to return and live in Bulgaria again in order to be more directly involved at the orphanages.

Of her humanitarian experiences with One Heart Bulgaria and the Bulgarian orphans, Sheri comments: I can't think of a better way to be of service than to spend my time helping these children get an honest chance at life.”

Sheri also enjoys athletics, particularly soccer, basketball, tennis, and racquetball.
