Chelsia Evans is from Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Utah in 2005. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Music degree from the University of Utah, with an emphasis in pedagogy. Chelsia is a private violin instructor for all ages, and a children's ski instructor.

Chelsia served an 18-month LDS mission in Bulgaria from 2001-2003, and returned one year later as One Heart Bulgaria’s first intern. In pioneering the program, Chelsia worked with several orphanages in both Sofia and Polvdiv, teaching various English classes, music therapy and lessons and crafts. During her internship, she lived at the orphanages--experiencing the everyday life of a Bulgarian orphan, helping with daily activities, and finding/selecting worthwhile projects to bring to the attention of One Heart Bulgaria for future programs and funding. She is now a committed member of the One Heart Bulgaria board, serving as the Internship Director, and helping with various fund-raising events and committees.

Chelsia is the second of six children and loves spending time with her family. She enjoys doing anything outside including skiing, water skiing, running, hiking, climbing and backpacking. She loves to run marathons and triathlons, play her violin, read, and participate in service. Chelsia is fluent in Bulgarian and loves keeping up connections with and meeting new people from Bulgaria.

Chelsia joined One Heart Bulgaria in 2004 and of her involvement comments: "I find no greater satisfaction than knowing a child's life might be influenced for the better because of our involvement in their life. The children of Bulgaria have boundless potential, and need only someone or something to give them the opportunity to reach it."
