Brooke Bates is from Heber City, Utah and currently resides in Salt Lake City. She is pursing a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from California Coast University while also working in the in-flight department for a commercial airline.

In 2002 Brooke taught English to kindergartners in Wuxi, China after becoming certified in the Duo Lingual Teaching method based on simulating complete immersion into the English language. Volunteering at an orphanage there touched her life. She believes, “When one child suffers, we all suffer. When a child sings with joy there is a serenade; the whole world sings back. We are connected.”

In 2005 Brooke started Nurture Global, Inc. www.nurtureglobal.org, a sister non-profit organization inspired by the success of One Heart Bulgaria. Her organization focuses mainly on giving aid to Chinese orphanages but is also devoted to nurturing children of all ethnicities as sacred human life.

Brooke’s personal interests include Middle Eastern dance, ballet, horseback riding, spending quality time with her loved ones and dog, cooking, languages, health and wellness, alternative medicine, and the power of music. She is a believer that service is the highest form of love and volunteers as a staff member at Impact Trainings. She completed these communication and leadership trainings in 1999 and continues to implement the tools learned.

Brooke joined One Heart Bulgaria in 2005 and currently serves as Medical Programs Director. Of her service she comments: “I am in gratitude to be a part of this amazing ripple. These children are such beautiful lights and deserve to live healthy lives. It’s their birthright to live and be loved. This experience has taught me so much about gratitude and what love really is. All children deserve to develop self worth based upon that love.”
